Hello beloveds,
Hope you all enjoy the message today on discipline. It truly is the Father's Love for us as His children. With that said, here are the scriptures to go along with the devotional. God bless you all. Thus you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. ~Deuteronomy 8:5 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. ~1 Corinthians 11:32 He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray. ~Proverbs 10:17 "Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and his hands also heal. " ~Job 5:17-18 (Remember our Just, God? .... such a merciful God.) And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes every one he accepts as a son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them from it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. ~Hebrews 12:5-11 (This speaks the heart of the whole devotional today. Wanted it to resonate with you when you read it. Sometimes things stick to us better when we read it rather than hear it. - Just a hint) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. ~Proverbs 1:7 He who chastens the nations, will He not rebuke, even He who teaches man knowledge? ~Psalm 94:10 Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O Lord, and whom You teach out of Your law; that You may grant him relief from the days of adversity, until a pit is dug for the wicked. ~Psalm 94:12-13 For these commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you. The correction of discipline is the way to life. ~Proverbs 6:23 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. ~Revelation 3:19 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. ~Proverbs 3:12 (Beautiful) Comments are closed.
